In 2006, a young couple from South Korea began to prepare food bags, socks, and personal care items at their apartment and distributed them to the homeless who live on the streets of Manhattan. On the first night, they served 16 homeless people but the numbers grew to 200 homeless per night in a year.
They opened their apartment to the homeless as a shelter in 2007 and for the first time, they eye-witnessed life-changing moments. It was an eye-opening moment for them to realize that recovering their normal life from homelessness is just one opportunity away.
As their outreach continued to grow they incorporated Living 2 Love, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in July 2010. Although it is a public charity, the members of directors are the major contributors to covering operation costs, administration costs, and any costs associated with the programs.
Besides our own programs, currently, we are sponsoring our valuable partners; other non-profit organizations, and local churches to build capacity and accelerate their impacts. We are working together to create a strong and thriving non-profit community.
Living 2 Love is deeply grateful to our affiliate organizations, individual volunteers, and corporations who share our mission. We have an operation team consisting of Certified Financial planners, Registered Investment Advisors, Private equity fund managers, and small business owners who do not want to be recognized for their works but serve the community anonymously.
"to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke, share food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter, and to clothe the naked."
